Permaculture, Preparedness, Homesteading & Survival

Last weekend I took some time out from day to day life and spent the weekend doing the next installment of my Permaculture Design Course over at the One Love Centre, Morbec Farm.
Time away from the stress of daily life always helps to recharge, and being surrounded by genuine people that radiate nothing but positivity is always an enriching experience, the guys and girls at the One Love Centre are without a doubt some of the best people I have ever met.

On Sunday Carly and the kids came with me to enjoy being close to nature and they had such a fun time, Logan loved racing around in the open space, feeding the horses and playing with the dog.

Here's Logan chatting away to One Love founder Chay. Chay's vision for the One Love centre is for it to be a community that is a centre for vulnerable and disadvantaged children to receive a nature based education and be allowed to express themselves creatively. Most of the people involved with One Love are Rastafari, and I have never met people that are so open, caring and genuine with a love for all life.

I went back during the week to help out at the farm and we sat around an open fire late into the night discussing ideas and projects. I really want to help this cause with what little free time I have as I admire the founders and their goals. If more people cared as much as these guys the world truly would be a better place.
We should all be building each other up instead of knocking others down. Love is one of the only pure things in this world, it costs nothing and is not subject to tax (yet!). Love can be given without being lost, it is not a finite resource. So please take time to tell your loved ones that you love them. Give someone a compliment for no reason. Smile at a stranger. You might just make someone's day, and if we can do that at no cost to ourselves, then why wouldn't we do that more often?

I'll end with a quote I read this week:
"Some people are so poor, all they have is money"

Looking into the flames and warming up the soul
