February

Five on Friday :)

Its the middle of February and I'm feeling fantastic!

FOR ASGARD!

The inlaws are healing up well and soon everything will return to normality and this will all just be a bad memory. To be able to walk away from a broken neck without any permanent damage just goes to show how lucky they both were.

In other news Logan has been asking questions. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 5 yr old but to be more specific he has been asking about money, how it works and how he can get more money. So we explained to him about how mine and Carly's businesses work and he decided that he wanted to start his own business, so of course we are encouraging him! He has chosen to start a sweet shop and picked out the name Wyrdwood Emporium, it will essentially be an online Willy Wonkas of sorts, here's a photo of some marbled chocolate bark he made this week whilst testing out recipes:

This week I also celebrated 5 years of membership in the White Wolf Brotherhood Motorcycle Club!

I finally finished pyrographing and staining the trinket box I have been making, the inside is lined with royal blue velvet :)

Pyrographed trinket box inscribed with runes and aew helm. Reads "wyrd bið ful aræd"

However, one of the things I'm most excited about is that Thor's Threads has now started selling drinking horns and horn tankards!

Our Jarl Drinking Horn

The Berserker Tankard is already a firm favourite with its gorgeous rustic looks

But the more polished version is the King Tankard, with a hand carved pattern all the way around it

And if you really want to drink in viking style the Jarl horn has some beautiful carving all the way around too

So as the sun rises on another day, I feel that 2018 can only get better for us, and although we had a bit of a shakey start I still believe that 2018 will be an amazing year for us all :)

Thanks for stopping by for Five on Friday, Hope you all have a wonderful week :)

  1. I think I'll stick to Ikea glasses for now (because they fit in the dishwasher) but your viking drinking vessels look great! It is never too early to start a business. Logan's chocolate bark is right at the top of my wishlist for a sweet treat. Glad that life is getting back to normal. x

  3. Glad to hear everyone is recovering and I'm hoping that one day it'll be a distant memory for you too. My son had to practice running a business once at secondary school. He bought small bags and packets and packets of sweets, then divided the sweets, as a mix up, into 30g bags (I think) and sold them for 50p a bag. He sold lots and lots of sweets! It was very popular indeed. All the best, Cathy x
