Good Riddance 2017!

I have been saying that 2018 was going to be the best year ever, that it was going to be our year, and I still believe that.

However one thing I hadn't counted on was that we still had to get out of 2017 alive which almost didn't happen. On the morning of New Years Eve we were all heading toward the land to walk the dogs on our land for the first time. Me Carly and the kids were in the car with the dogs and Terry and Diane (F.I.L & M.I.L) were following a couple of minutes behind us on the bike. We got the phone call that no one ever wants to hear, that there had been an accident so we called an ambulance circled around and found them in a ditch at the side of the road.

As you can imagine it was the New Years Eve from hell, they both sustained multiple injuries, multiple broken bones, the worst of which being that Diane has a broken neck. You may find it hard to believe but after just 4 days in hospital they have released her to be cared for at home with what I can only describe as the most uncomfortable hard neck brace I have ever seen in my life.

At the moment we are counting our blessings that they are both still alive, it could have been so much worse! Of course our routine will be disrupted somewhat so that we can care for them for the next six weeks, but that is the least of our worries. I'll make sure I get a Five on Friday post up each week but please bear with me , the content might not be that exciting for the next month or two as I'm not going to get much opportunity to go out and have any adventures

Thanks for stopping by for Five on Friday, I hope the New Year brings you all of your hearts desires
