Day 1 November Challenge & Other News

A pinch, a punch the first of the month!

If you caught our last post we mentioned we'd be doing a challenge this month for everyone to join in with.

Since there's 30 days in November it's perfect for us to do the 30 days of Yoga with Adriene!

You don't need anything special just a bit of floorspace, run the video and let Adriene guide you with the basics of yoga, here's the link for day one:

In other news, Logan has told us he wants to be a vegetarian. His exact words were that he doesn't want to eat meat any more because he doesn't want to hurt animals. Although me and Carly do occasionally eat meat, we're going to respect his wishes and make sure that our family meals are vegetarian so that he isn't left out or anything. We've been making a lot of vegan meals in the last 6 months anyway so it isn't a major shock to the system for us, although the first time when Logan saw us eating meat and said "why are you eating that daddy, why do you want to hurt animals?" it did leave me a little speechless!

Here's a vegetarian Shepherds Pie we had, although I suppose it should really be a farmers pie since it doesn't contain any shepperds

It's surprising that you actually don't miss the meat at all when you've got things like chickpeas in the mix, they're really filling!

Once suitably fueled up with vegetarian grub our little man loves nothing more than a bit of dressing up, so here he is in his new PJ's being our friendly neighborhood Spiderman

and of course his partner in crime Dread Ranger

And when the little boy has had his fun the big boys go out for theirs, we've been exploring the local area, getting to know the places that are off the beaten track

Here's the view from the saddle

After Tel cleaned and rebuilt the carbs the old girl is running like a sewing machine, and I guess she doesn't look too bad either

and since without his help sorting the carbs out I wouldn't be back on the bike yet, let's finish with a shot of Tel enjoying the mountain roads!

See you all Tomorrow!

  1. My daughter is into yoga of the 'i'm hard just like Madonna 'variety. It seems to involve lots of xrays and trips to the doctor . Bit like my other halfs disability.
Did look at Ti Chi a few times , which is good at least i looked ,but im afraid fitness is judged by how much digging i can do before i keel over

  3. I'd like a recipe for your vegetarian shepherds pie!!
    It looks fantastic.
I mostly gave up meat, but find that about once a week I get a serious craving for a bit of beef. Don't know if that's the body telling me something, or just "echoes" of standard diet.
Good luck with your month of yoga. Can't start just yet, but will definitely try that program.

  8. My son started questioning the whole eating animals thing when he was 7, I couldn't really give him any good reasons why we ate them and I wasn't happy with the meat industry so we went veggie and have never eaten meat of fish since. Your farmers pie looks good, and your bike, I miss my days of bombing around on my bike.

    1. I dont disagree with eating meat, I just disagree with the way the meat in the supermarkets is produced. most of the food on the shelves is pretty dubious to be honest it's not just the meat lol
bikes are the best way to blow away the cobwebs and grey clouds from the mind, great therapy
