FAST Five on Friday

Welcome to this week's Fast Five, today is 5 things we've been up to since last Friday here at FAST HQ:

Permaculture! I started my PDC (Permaculture Design Course) which is spread out over 6 months, more about the course so far in THIS post

First Aid - I renewed my first aid certificate through St Johns ambulance, I would highly recommended them it was by far the best and most comprehensive first aid course I've done so far

Thirst Aid: Cider! I've been brewing my own again and posted a super quick cheap and easy way to make your own cider in just 3 weeks using supermarket ingredients, click HERE to find out how you can too.

Diet! We're not on a diet, but we are trying to improve our diets and nourish our bodies from the inside out.We are have adopted a more plant-based diet, which is for the most part gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free. I still have cow's milk in my tea, and butter on my toast occasionally, and still have a few meals with meat in - we're not being too strict on ourselves. Despite much protest on my part it turns out that vegan food can be pretty damn good, here's a snap of a roasted butternut squash and chickpea salad we had yesterday

Nibbles Lastly a tasty snack that Carly made with the left overs, roasted salt and vinegar chickpeas! They were so good they didn't last long at all!

Hope you all have an amazing weekend, thanks for stopping by!

  1. A good fast five. We have stopped eating meat for 40 days and it's surprisingly easy. It's making me have to go to recipe books and getting me out of my cooking rut

  3. Congrats for your diet! I eat very little red meat, mainly fish & poultry. And also glutenfree and no added sugar :)

  4. I wish I could persuade my other half that he doesn't need meat in every meal. He'll eat veggie and vegan stuff, but I can tell he'd prefer it with a couple of rashers of bacon on top!

  5. The roasted butternut squash in your salad made me drool. I've been trying to add a yellow or orange fruit or vegetable every day, and this would be perfect. I might have to cheat with a smear of butter on it.

  7. Enjoyed your Fast Five. Love veggies, but I have to have a bit of meat too, mostly chicken which is so versatile.
